SUBJECT: Measuring Rods | THOUGHT: Standards exist to bring order. |
Lord, I have some disturbing information. Apparently,
the Artificers of the Vindicators do not use the Imperial Standard Measuring
Rods manufactured by the Adeptus Mechanicus. Instead, they forge
their own barbaric rods. Actually, they don't even forge them.
They use a cheep native wooden rod from the Baslim tree, cut to a rough
1/8 diameter, 2 foot long rod. They then use a primitive ink to apply
markings along at 1" intervals, using a Standard Measuring Rod to make
the markings. Finally, they highlight every 6th mark with another
ink, claiming that these are the most important distances. They also
highlight the 2" mark from each end, for similar reasons.
How they can do anything right without the Imperial
Standard Measuring Rod made by the Mechanicus Workshops is beyond me.
Why would they prefer a cheap, wood rod to a highly advanced hydrocarbon
rod is baffling to my Tech-Priest. He says that the thermal expansion
properties of Baslim wood are much higher than hydrocarbon, and are more
fragile. I believe he personally wishes to interrogate one of the
Vindicator's Artificers for defiling the mandates of the Machine God.
With your permission Lord, I will break the Non-Physalis clause in this
case to fulfill his wish. He has been a very loyal servant to the
Inquisition for 20 years, and this is his first personal request.
It is the least I could do for him.
I await your reply.
Lord, please send your transmission to Inquisitor
