SUBJECT: Artificer Armor Mark I | THOUGHT: Innovation leads to suffering. |
Lord, my agents have
uncovered a project of the highest security within the workshops
of the Vindicator's Artificers. Apparently, with the help of the
heathens of Rhinterveld, they have developed a special coating
for the Mark VII armor. Based off of a metalic enameling
processes, it apparently gives the power armor a high
energy-dispersal property. It is a time-consuming process, since
the enamel coating dries very quickly. Often the chemical dries
in the applicator, requiring hours of cleaning before the process
can once again resume.
However, the end result is worth the cost. I must admit, even I found the product bedazzling in appearance and performance. Energy dispersal is increased by 24.2%, giving the armor a total energy dispersal of almost 80%! The bonding process also reacts well with the ceramite, actually increasing its overall hardness by 16%. Altogether, this armor is almost as effective as Mark III Tactical Dreadnought Armor, but much more expensive to produce and maintain. However, since it's based off of the standard Mark VII Power Armor, its power consumption is much lower than the Tactical Dreadnought Armor, allowing for faster reactions and movement.
Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately,) it's energy dispersal rating isn't quite high enough to prevent plasma from melting through the armor. It almost prevents the ceramite from reaching its boiling point, but not quite enough. And of course melta weapons burn right through it, since they are a miniaturized version of the ceramite melting torches. The Artificers are attempting to find a way to dissipate the heat quickly enough for it to be effective against plasma weaponry.
I will notify you hear of an other developments.
If you need to contact me Lord, send your transmission to Inquisitor Ryjak
